Strategic planning and marketing requires a cohesive plan.

Whether your organization is a start-up or has enjoyed some longevity, there are some important concepts that address an organization’s make up and guide growth.  These are important tools to provide to both internal stakeholders and to the customer.  These should be constructed with careful thought and consideration to reflect the true nature of your organization, as well as to include sound business practice and goals. There are volumes of articles and books written on these topics, but to summarize –

  • A mission statement describes what type of work a business is in.   It often provides focus for management and staff.
  • Core values addresses the behaviors of the members of a group. This a sort of moral compass.  This is not as broad as a code of ethics.
  • The vision of an organization summarizes where it wants to be in the future.

All of these work to inform your customer.
